Geisha/Gesha Coffee

Did you know there are many types of coffee bean? Gesha (also spelled Geisha) coffee beans are one of the most celebrated and sought-after coffee varieties in the world ☕✨

Originally discovered in the Gesha region of Ethiopia, this coffee varietal became globally famous after being cultivated in Panama, where it revealed its extraordinary flavor potential.

What makes Gesha coffee special?

🌸 *Distinct flavor profile:** Known for its delicate, tea-like body with notes of jasmine, bergamot, tropical fruit, honey, and citrus

🌱 *Unique plant genetics:** The Gesha varietal is genetically distinct from most Arabica coffees, contributing to its complexity

⛰️ *Grown at high altitudes:** Typically cultivated in cool, mountainous regions that enhance its aromatic qualities

🏆 *Award-winning reputation:** Gesha coffees frequently win top honors in international competitions like Best of Panama

Why is it expensive?

Gesha coffee is rare, difficult to grow, produces lower yields, and requires precise farming and processing. Combined with high global demand, this makes it one of the most expensive coffees available—sometimes selling for hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars per pound at auction.

Who is it for?

Gesha is perfect for coffee lovers who enjoy floral, aromatic, and complex cups rather than bold or bitter flavors. It’s often best brewed using pour-over methods to highlight its nuanced characteristics.

In short, Gesha coffee isn’t just a drink—it’s an experience.

Please let me know if you are interseted in trying Geisha Coffee. I normally do not sell as it is harder to source and will cost double the other coffees I carry. However is is one of my favorite coffees I drink.
